How Your Wedding Can Help Haiti
We issued a press release to local media outlets today urging HamiltonEngaged.com viewers and area brides to donate to Haiti relief in lieu of guests favours.
Now traditionally couples opt for little candies, picture frames, monogrammed coasters etc. to give their guest as thank you favours. As a wedding planner I unfortunately see those little items often left behind and thrown out at the end of the night.
Donating to a charity has been a common trend for a few years now and couples usually chose a charity of their choice. But we are urging you to consider donating to the Haiti relief effort especially while the Canadian Government is matching our donations dollar for dollar before February 12th.
So please visit www.canadaforhaiti.com and make a donation or call 1-877-51haiti for a donation on behalf of yor guests.
How To Get The Word Out:
If you want to inform your guests of your donation on their behalf you can...
1. Type out the information that you have made a donation to Haiti relief that was doubled by the government on their behalf and then frame it and place it on your receiving table.
2. Get your DJ and MC to inform guests that in lieu of favours you have made a donation to Haiti relief on their behalf.
3. Inform them by placing the message on the place cards.
Thank you for considering the needs of others at this tragic time in the lives of Haitians. Together we can make a difference.
Spread Your Love,

This is what I mean with personalizing and wowing your guests...
Check this out on You Tube. This is just the ceremony march I can't imagine what the rest of the wedding would look like. See how confused and excited those guests look? They will NEVER EVER forget something like that.
To make it yours... Think completely outside of the box. Make it personal to the two of you. What do you love to do together? Obviously this couple likes dancing, performing, music. And what good sports their wedding party is.
Just love it!!!!

Planning your wedding over xmas
Only a few shopping days left until Christmas... how exciting!!! The great thing about Christmas other than the shopping and the giving is the fact all of your family members are gathered together in one place, what a great opportunity to fill in those missing addresses and name spellings for your guest list.Another great piece of advice is check out all the boxing day sale savings on DIY items for your wedding like vases, favours, candy, candles etc. (The dollar store is a brides best friend, go have a peek around and see what you can find).
And my biggest piece of advice is cuddle together near the Christmas tree, enjoy being with your family, hang out with your friends, get all dolled up on New Years Eve, stay safe, don't drink and drive and have a Happy Holidays from Hamilton Engaged.

Carol Rame's Noteworthy- Love Bird Theme
I recently came across this lovely little topic on Carol Rame's blog.
Carol Rame is an excellent local wedding planner who is located in Waterdown. I came across this great little topic on her blog "Noteworthy". It's an excellent blog you should check it out. The love bird theme I think would be a great theme for a Spring wedding perhaps in a "robin's egg blue" and other pastels like light yellow, light pink and cream.

Open House at Famee Furlane Nov 1st in Binbrook
So last week in my Glanbrook Gazette I saw an ad for an open house at a local venue here in Binbrook. It had peeked my curiousity as I didn't even know that it was basically my neighbour and just around the corner. So I had to check it out.
As I pulled up to the venue which had lots of parking, I saw this great little garden area which would be beautiful for an outdoor ceremony and photos. You could have your wedding photos take place on the grounds which have woods, corn fields nearby, the garden area (as above), there's an old cemetary at the end of the road, and there is also Lake Niapenco conservation area about 5-10 mins away which is lakefront which could also be a great photo spot. When you walk into the Famee Furlane there is a lovely entranceway for cocktails and the receiving line. Inside the hall it is already decorated as it is included with your price per person.
Around the room they had different table setting decor options set up as well as several local vendors that could be apart of your day. And the best part... was the delicious authentic Italian Food tasting. It was a great venue nestled away in Binbrook on Hendershot Road, if you're interested in checking out this venue for your wedding day info@fameefurlane.ca.

Webster's Falls

Webster's Falls is a gorgeous place for photos or even to get married. The rushing sounds of the falls, the nature, the trails. Great for a couple who are outdoorsy. (More photos available on our facebook fan page, become a fan today!)
